Also known as Carlisle's Turk Probably named after the Acaster location just south of York, which comprises the villages of Acaster Malbis and Acaster Selby Sire of 1) high class racehorse Chaunter (winner 1715-1721); 2) Sister to Chaunter, dam of Roxana, dam of Cade (1740 King's Plate Newmarket, Champion Sire 1752, 1753, 1758, 1759 and 1760, sire of Matchem) and of high class undefeated racehorse Lath), and of Sister of Roxana, dam of Cato (1737 King's Plate York, 1738 King's Plate Newmarket); 3) Thwaites Dun Mare (5th dam of the great racehorse and sire Pot-8-0s, which continued the Darley Arabian male line from which descend over 95% of throughbreds in the world today) 4) high class racemare Wharton Mare, dam of Buckhunter (1719 King's Plates York x2, Lincoln and Newmarket, 1720 King's Plate Newmarket); 5) dam of [William's] Squirrel (1725 King's Plates York, Newmarket, 1726 King's Plate Newmarket); 6) dam of Bat (1728 King's Plate Ipswich, 1729 King's Plates Guildford, Salisbury); and 7) the dam of Spectre (1739 King's Plate Nottingham)
