| Her daughter Sister to Sloven shares the same haplotype as the descendants of the Whiteshirt Mare of Family 12, so Sister to Sloven and her descendants belong to that mare's branch of Family 12 not Family 9 (Sister Two to Mixbury) as assigned by the General Stud Book, so all the descendants of Sister to Sloven (the whole of Families 9-b and Family 9-c [through Sister to Sloven's daughters, by [Bolton] Sweepstakes and by Crab respectively] should be reassigned to Family 12 As Sister to Sloven is not, in fact, a daughter of Sister Two to Mixbury, this very significantly reduces the significance of Sister Two to Mixbury as a broodmare, although she is still 5th dam of the high class racehorse Gunpowder (2nd 1787 Derby) and of good class racehorse Poor Soldier, winner of 19 races | |
