One of a number of stallions at the Lowther stud at Lowther Hall, Westmoreland Probably the same horse as Wynn's Arabian, as the Lonsdale Grey Arabian was purchased from Thomas Wynn of Boston, Lincolnshire, in around 1735 Sire of two known progeny, only one of which breeds on, an unnamed mare which is grandam of Diana (1778 King's Plate [mares] Newmarket, King's Plates Nottingham, York, 1779 King's Plate Newmarket; 3rd dam of top class racehorse Goldfinder, undefeated in 11 career starts: 4th dam of Ceres (1785 Oaks); of Hardwicke (1785 Claret Stakes); 5th dam of Rhadamanthus (1790 Derby); of Daedalus (1794 Oaks); and of [Bond's] First Consul (undefeated 1801 to 1805, winning his first 21 races in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington City, remaining unbeaten until an 8yo)
