He first showed his quality when tried as a yearling; in his trial, he defeated two-year-old Monitor, stakes-placed that year and later a stakes winner many times over. Pierre Lorillard stood him at his Rancocas Stud after the death of his brother George. Sensation was eventually sent to England and ranked second on the general sire list there in 1899. | |
