| Curwen's Arabian is owned by Henry Curwen (1661-1725) and he is identified in Cuthbert Routh's Stud Book as the sire of the Vintner Mare, the Foundation Mare of Family 9; she is his only recorded progeny In 1715, Mr. Curwen advertised his whole stud for sale, including "30 Choice Brood Mares, 22 of which Mares are the Daughters of the famous bay Barbe [the Curwen Bay Barb]" (Evening Post, 3 September 1715] | |
