| She was scheduled to run a match for 500 guineas versus Mr. Cotton's Crab on 2 October 1728, but she paid forfeit and did not run. This is her only verified record as a racehorse Taproot Mare Family 1-a Dam of top class racehorse Merry Andrew (1736 King's Plates Lewes, Canterbury, 1740 and 1741 King's Plates The Curragh); grandam of Spectator (1756 Jockey Club Plate); of the great broodmare Julia, which proliferated Family 1 into numerous branches through Julia's daughters Promise and Princess; and fourth dam of top class racehorse Goldfinder (undefeated in 11 career starts) A modern branch of Family 1-a descends from Nettle (1891), but research at bloodlines.net indicates that Nettle was likely a descendant of the sister of Bonny Lass, not of Bonny Lass | |
