| At 3: Won King Edward VII S. (ENG,12f), Hyperion S. (ENG, 12f), Jockey Club S. (ENG, 14f); finished first in the Royal Standard S. (ENG, 10f) but was disqualified for crossing. At 4: Won Ascot Gold Cup (ENG, 20f). A "gentle giant," Precipitation was too backward to start as a juvenile and did not race until age 3. He could not start in the St. Leger Stakes due to a mite-caused heel infection but easily defeated the St. Leger winner, Boswell, in the Jockey Club Cup three weeks later. He was the most successful of Hurry On's sons in England and Died on March 9, 1957, at Lady Zia's Someries Stud. | |
